The 2017 NFL preseason begins on August 4th, and the regular season kicks off just over a month later with the Super Bowl 51 champion New England Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. Although teams are currently in training camp, it is a great time for bettors to wager on this season’s NFL futures bets, including the Super Bowl 52 winner.
Sportsbooks all over the world have the odds for this season’s NFL futures, and punters can get great odds on their favorite teams before a ball is hiked in September. There are now less than 42 days until the Chiefs travel to New England, so who are the Super Bowl 52 futures favorites?
New England Patriots +375
What isn’t to love about the Pats? The team still has Tom Brady under center and the Pats continue to take players, plug them into Bill Belichick system and churn out winning seasons. The Pats have won two of the last three Super Bowls and the team has won 10 or more games in each of the last 14 seasons. New England won all 16 games in 2007 a feat that USA Today has projected them to do once again in 2017.
Green Bay Packers +750
According to recent reports, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has “rekindled his love affair” with football. That’s great news for the Packers, but terrible news for the rest of the NFL. The Packers went 10-6 last season, but were beaten in the playoffs in the NFC Championship game by the Atlanta Falcons. USA Today has predicted the Packers and Falcons to both win 12 games this season, the most in the NFC.
Dallas Cowboys +1200
Dallas had one of the most exciting offenses in 2016 as it chalked up the fifth most yards per game with 376.7. Some NFL pundits believe this year’s team will have the defense to match its phenomenal offense. The Cowboys gave up the 14th fewest total yards on defense last year with 343.9 per game and that number could be improve this year. Could it be Dallas’ season? The Cowboys should be the best team in the NFC East at the very least.
Seattle Seahawks +1200
The Seahawks have made the NFL Playoffs in five straight seasons. However, the last two saw the team beaten in the Divisional Playoffs. Seattle is projected to win 11 games this season. The team averaged 22.1 points per game in 2016, which was good for 18th. The Seahawks’ defense was what made the team so good, however, as it gave up just 18.2 points per game, which was the third fewest in the NFL.
Oakland Raiders +1200
Last season saw Oakland make the NFL Playoffs for the first time in 14 seasons. It was also the first season since 2002 that the Raiders had a winning record. Expectations are now high in Northern California, and Derek Carr will be expected to work his magic once more. The Raiders averaged the seventh most points a game in 2016 with 26.0. But like the playoffs proved, the team are very reliant on Carr. How he plays will dictate the team’s season. Heaven forbid he get injured again.
