These are Z-code’s favorite progression bets to open the week:

The Diamondbacks are starting Zack Greinke who is currently 12-4 with a  4.17 ERA. He’ll be facing Kenta Maeda who is 13-8 with a 3.38 ERA. This will be Greinke’s first start in LA on an opposing team since moving to the D-backs in free agency last offseason.

The Dodgers have won 3 of their last 6 but have been hitting well- scoring 24 runs in their last 4 games. Arizona has also been hitting well but against far less competent pitchers. The Dodgers are slowing down after a mid-season run to overtake San-Francisco for the NL West. They are currently three games ahead and will look to bolster that lead with this home series against a far more inferior D-backs team. Arizona is currently 58-78.

We think ultimately this series favors LA and expect at least two wins out of the three games. Therefore we are recommending the ABC progression for wagering on this matchup.

The Rangers are firmly in control of the AL West with 82 wins and Seattle is struggling to stay above .500. The Rangers are absolutely clobbering the ball, scoring 56 runs in their last 6 games. They’re also coming off a big series win at home against Houston and a sweep at home against the Mariners. The Rangers are starting their ace, Cole Hammels, who is 14-4 with a 2.91 ERA and 171 k. He’s facing the competent Felix Hernandez who is 9-5 with an ERA of 3.48 and 104 K. The Mariners have been playing poorly on both sides of the plate, winning only 1 of their last 6 games and averaging only 3 runs in their 5 losing games. Meanwhile, in those 5 games they gave up an average of 8.5 runs.

Expect another sweep from Texas here and bet with an ABC progression. We’re taking game 1 for 2 units.

The Mets have been winning games where they pitch well. They’ve won 4 of their last 6 and in each of those four games they gave up an average of 2 runs. With Bartolo Colon on the mound who is 12-7 with an ERA of 3.35, we can expect another solid showing on the mound from New York. The Reds are starting Robert Stephenson who only has two major league starts. Granted, both were wins, he threw only 4 strikeouts and has struggled with walks in the minors. Expect a poor performance from Stephenson who will be out of his element pitching in a major league game. Furthermore, with the exception of one of their last six games, the Reds have been hitting terribly. In those 5 games they have scored just 9 runs.

The Mets are the superior team and have advantages on both sides of the plate in this matchup. Furthermore, they have Syndergaard starting in game three who represents C-bet protection in a progression wager. We’re recommending an ABC progression for this series.
