Although the group stage is coming to an end there is still plenty for teams to play for. Matches on Wednesday and Thursday will have major implications on which sides will move on and which national teams will go home.

FIFA World Cup Wednesday, June 27

Group E: Serbia vs. Brazil

Serbia clash with Brazil in a must-win match. The Serbians need to win to get through the group. Serbia has played well but threw away a chance for a draw in its last match. Now, the team needs a win against Group E’s most difficult to beat team.

Brazil may have secured four points from six, but the team has struggled to break down defenses. Star Neymar has yet to play to the standards many expected. Philippe Coutinho has pulled the Brazilians through with two timely goals.

***Although Brazil should win, bettors should be on the lookout for a possible Serbia upset.

Winner: Brazil

Group E: Switzerland vs. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is already eliminated. Switzerland simply needs a draw to qualify for the round of 16. Switzerland has been good and the team has gotten timely goals. The team’s last match saw it get a 90th minute winner against Serbia. The Swiss should win again and inflict more misery on Costa Rica

Winner: Switzerland

Group F: South Korea vs. Germany

Reigning World Cup champions Germany needs to win to keep its tournament hopes alive. A win would give the team six points and put it in a possible three-way tie for first and second in Group F. A draw or loss may see the team go home. Germany has been poor for the most part. However, the team should be able to defeat South Korea without difficulty.

Winner: Germany

Group F: Mexico vs. Sweden

Mexico has been outstanding at the World Cup. The Mexicans defeated Germany in game 1 before beating South Korea in their second match. Sweden gave up two second-half goals to Germany. It now makes Wednesday’s game a must-win. Mexico will be too strong and the Juan Carlos Osorio’s side will do just enough.

Winner: Mexico

FIFA World Cup Thursday, June 28

Group G: England vs. Belgium

Both European sides have played well and go into the final match needing a win to top the group. Injuries could see Belgium rest several players as Roberto Martinez wants the team fresh for the round of 16. England could do the same, but momentum is high. The Three Lions will go all out for three points.

Winner: England

Group G: Tunisia vs. Panama

Few will care about the result of this match except those playing in it. Neither has been very good at the World Cup. Tunisia does have more talent in the squad and due to this will finally win a World Cup match in 2018.

Winner: Tunisia

Group H: Japan vs. Poland

Japan was supposed to be in crisis, but the Blue Samurai has obtained four points from six. Poland has been an utter disappointment and is already eliminated. Japan needs to win or draw to go through. The team’s progression is in its own hands.

Winner: Japan

Group H: Senegal vs. Colombia

This is a huge match. Colombia was expected to win the group but lost its opening match. Senegal has played well and is undefeated thus far. Colombia and its world-class attacking players will put Senegal to the test. The winner will qualify for the next round. Colombia can still qualify with a draw but need to have a better goal difference than Japan.

***Although ZCode System’s score predictor has selected Senegal to win, expect the Colombians to get the win in this important match.

Winner: Senegal
