Group F: South Korea vs. Mexico

Mexico pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the group stage by beating defending champions Germany. The Mexicans were good and have an electric counterattack that can beat teams with pace. South Korea lost 1-0 to Sweden to open the tournament. The Koreans offered little in front of goal and registered zero shots on target.

Winner: Mexico

Group F: Germany vs. Sweden

The Germans huffed and puffed during their opening match, but couldn’t score a goal. The team has won just once in its last seven games in all competitions. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer hasn’t looked sharp and he should have stopped Hirving Lozano’s goal in game one. Sweden got a big win over South Korea but struggled to break the team down from open play. This match will be close with the Germans just edging Sweden.

Winner: Germany

Group G: Belgium vs. Tunisia

Belgium struggled early in its match against Panama. However, the team figured things out after halftime and looked far stronger in the second half. Tunisia nearly took a point from England thanks to the Three Lions’ poor finishing. Tunisia struggled with England’s pace and the defense won’t be able to stop the far better Belgians.

Group G: England vs. Panama

England has a lot of pace and it gave Tunisia problems in match 1. The English will be able to use that speed against Panama. The Panamanians are considered the weakest team to beat in Group G. England should have its way with Panama as long as the players are wearing their shooting boots.

Winner: England

Group H: Japan vs. Senegal

Little was expected from Japan coming into the World Cup. The team was in poor form and in crisis with a new coach appointed in April. Yet, the Japanese surprised everyone and beat the highly favored Colombia team. Senegal also won in its first game with an okay performance against Poland. Both sides benefited from their previous opponents playing poorly.

Winner: Draw***

Despite ZCode System’s score predictor stating Senegal will win, these two teams are evenly matched, so expect a draw.

Group H: Poland vs. Colombia

Both of these teams underperformed in game 1. Now, the nations have their backs against the wall and need all three points. Colombia will be without Carlos Sanchez. He was sent off in Colombia’s previous match. The Colombians will still have enough talent to grab all three points. Both teams need a win, and Poland should play better than last time out.
