English Premier League soccer prediction: North London Derby

NLD

The English Premier League will be headlined by one of the league’s biggest annual fixtures, the North London Derby, this in week 12. Arsenal host arch-rivals Tottenham as both teams vie for a top four finish. It may be too late to catch league leaders Manchester City for the Premier League title, but the North London Derby is about more than trophies. It’s about pride.

North London Derby

Arsenal vs. Tottenham

Tottenham come into the game in better shape than its rivals. Spurs have won five of six games in the league, and sit tied for second. Arsenal have won four of six matches, but sit sixth in the league. However, Arsenal doesn’t have the same injury problems as Tottenham currently do.

Spurs top goal scorer, Harry Kane, missed out on England’s international matches over the last week. It is unknown how fit he is for Saturday’s game. However, he is expected to start. Midfielder Dele Alli is the same, and the player is expected to feature; but how fit is he? Spurs really need both for the fixture.

Arsenal has won its last 10 home matches, but the Gunners have only beaten Tottenham once in their last six meetings. Although Arsenal has been brilliant at the Emirates Stadium, Tottenham has secured 12 of 15 points on the road this term. In addition, Spurs have scored 12 goals while conceding just three away from home. Arsenal has only allowed four goals at home, so don’t expect many goals in this fixture.

Despite Tottenham’s current win record over Arsenal, ZCode System’s Scores Predictor has the Gunners coming out on top of this game. Arsenal has been predicted to win 3-1 on Saturday. Although I said not to expect a lot of goals, that score line seems doesn’t seem impossible.

Arsenal has not only been selected to win the match via the ZCode System’s Scores Predictor, but bettors have been wagering on the Gunners ahead of the fixture. Arsenal is the favorite on moneyline betting.

One of the biggest reasons Arsenal is being favored to win the first North London Derby of the season is due to Tottenham’s goalkeeping problems. Star goalkeeper Hugo Lloris missed Tottenham’s last match on November 5th and no decision on whether he will play has been made yet. Spurs’ backup goalkeeper Michael Vorm is also injured, which means third choice player Paulo Gazzaniga could start. That could be very worrying for Tottenham.

Key stats for Saturday’s North London Derby:

– Tottenham has won just two of 32 match against Arsenal away from home.

– Arsenal has lost twice and drawn four in its last six games against Tottenham.

– The last three meetings between Arsenal and Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium have ended in draws.

The North London Derby will be another huge fixture in the Premier League. It is also a great fixture for fans to wager on as the two sides won’t let fans down on Saturday.
