NHL Picks: New Jersey Devils at Buffalo Sabres

NHL Picks: New Jersey Devils at Buffalo Sabres

This is a heartbreak or hope game for me, so kindly ignore my various and blatant biases in evaluating this game. I think the Devils can make the playoffs. Here’s why:

1. The Columbus Blue Jackets are about to play three top teams. I think they could lose all three. They were sellers at the deadline and this is a deadly stretch in their schedule.

2. The Devils play the Caps later this week. Win and they leap both non-playoff teams to become the top threat to Columbus’ WC 2 spot.

NHL Playoffs Picks and Predictions: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders

NHL Playoffs Picks and Predictions: Pittsburgh Penguins at New York Islanders

The Pittsburgh Penguins made a gutsy move to sit their franchise goaltender in favor of a veteran that was run out of the last two teams he played for.

They’re a fantastic home team and taking on one of the weakest road teams in NFL history. The Falcons are coming off a bye, and if not for an RGIII injury (and decision to leave him in the game), I think it’s highly likely the Seahawks get eliminated last week.

Atlanta 27 – Seattle 23

2. A teaser play on Ravens and Texans to +17: I don’t love the two heavy favorites this week. The New England Patriots scare  ...

MLB Playoffs Picks, Wild Card Game: St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves

WILD CARD PLAY-IN GAMES, MLB PLAYOFFS – MLB FEATURED GAME OF THE DAY 10/5: St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves

The American League would have had a play-in game anyway, but in the National League the new Wild Card system is in full effect. The St. Louis Cardinals would have missed a playoff birth by a significant margin, finishing fifth. Because of the new playoff system, they get a chance. After winning the World Series from the Wild Card spot last year, they’re a dan

gerous team as the 5th seed.

This is an epic playoff pitching matchup. Quite  ...
