NFL Picks: Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers, Monday Night Football

NFL Picks: Monday Night Football – Colts Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are unbeaten. The Carolina Panthers, nearly 2:1 favorites to miss the playoffs this year, are unbeaten. The Indianapolis Colts, saved by how terrible their division is, are in the playoff hunt despite how terribly they’ve played to start the year. It sounds, if you were making preseason predictions, that those comments would be reversed when they met on Monday Night Football.

I don’t trust Andrew Luck. I don’t think he’s healthy, I don’t think he’s effective, and I don’t think he’s going to have a very strong game against the  ...

NHL Picks: New Jersey Devils at Florida Panthers

NHL Picks: New Jersey Devils at Florida Panthers

The best hockey game I’ve ever seen in person was the double-overtime thriller in Florida during the Devils’ most recent Stanley Cup run. Martin Brodeur stood on his head as the Florida Panthers dominated overtime following a late goal to tie it all up. Adam Henrique, who could barely skate his legs were so tried, fired a shot from deep in the slot and the New Jersey Devils advanced from the first round. It was the biggest bet I’ve ever made when combined with the series bets I had laid down.

NFL Picks Contest, Week 11: Falcons Panthers

NFL Picks Week 11 Contest ($200 Prizes): Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers

It’s funny. If you asked me who two of the most disappointing teams were this season, they’re playing each other. Then you look in the standings, and the Atlanta Falcons are a game out of first place in the NFC South division, and because of a missed overtime field goal and a tie, the Carolina Panthers are just half a game out. This division is terrible, these teams are terrible, but this game could be a good one. For our purposes, let’s give up the 1.5 spread and just call this one a pick ’em. Who ya got?

Also, here are our standings. Somehow, all four of leaders won. Since this is a first to ten wins contest, this could be the last week our first place prize of $150 is on the table, but don’t forget that second place (the second person to ten wins)  ...

NHL Picks Contest Standings Update: Round 11, Panthers at Sabres

NHL Picks Contest, Standings Update: Round 11, Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres

Another contest pick, another one-goal game. The Florida Panthers barely prevailed over the Buffalo Sabres in exciting fashion. Congratulations to all our winners – we’ve got a leader again and we’re coming down the home stretch. Let’s keep winning together.

NHL Picks Contest Game: Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres

NHL Picks Contest: Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres

It’s another round of the competition, and it’s another ugly selection. The Florida Panthers are fresh off a very impressive win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but they’re tired from a back to back and on the road in Buffalo. The Sabres are floundering this season, but they’re a physical team with excellent goaltending. Vegas and I agree that this is a coin flip.

I lean to the Sabres here, personally, but the computer disagrees. As such, this game does not fit any systems in the Z-Code VIP Club. That, of course, is  ...

NHL Picks Contest Standings Update, Round 10: Islanders at Panthers

NHL Picks Contest Standings Update, Round 10: Islanders V. Panthers

The Panthers dominated this one early and held on in a battle of two teams that have struggled this year. As a result, we’ve got some serious clutter at the top. Remember, first place is $100 and the runner up will receive $50. This is when these contests keep getting more interesting, and several people have made their move. Let’s keep winning together! We’re tied at the top after ten rounds!

NHL Picks Contest ($100 Prize): New York Islanders at Florida Panthers

NHL Picks: Contest Game – New York Islanders at Florida Panthers

I angered some people with my “two bad teams” comment in the picks game, and it looks like the Islanders responded as well. They’ve won four in a row, but they’re on the road against a streaky Panthers team.

Florida has a goalie who can win games for them in Tim Thomas. He’s a tough guy to win against, and the Panthers have been steady lately.

The Islanders are on fire. Offensively, everything is clicking. They can still be a liability defensively, but the way they’re scoring it doesn’t  ...

NHL Picks Contest Round 10 ($100 Prize): New York Islanders at Florida Panthers

NHL Picks Contest Round Ten ($100 Prize): New York Islanders at Florida Panthers

It’s funny, but I think the most difficult game to predict this Tuesday is between two pretty bad teams. The Panthers aren’t far removed from the playoffs and went out and got a pretty decent goalie in Tim Thomas, but they’ve struggled most of the year. The New York Islanders, in perhaps even more disappointing fashion, traded for Thomas Vanek only to sputter into the depths of the Metropolitan Division. Bad teams lend to volatility, and I really like this game as a contest pick…

NFL Picks: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints – SNF

NFL Picks: Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints – Sunday Night Football

The Saints don’t lose in the dome. They’re a phenomenal, undefeated, fast, aggressive, consistent team at home. The crowd is loud and helps their defense overachieve, and the turf helps their style of play.

The Carolina Panthers are on fire, and a win here means a lot to a team that has put their slow start well behind them. These divisional rivals have everything on the line, but I question if Carolina can keep up.

New Orleans’ offense is simply too good. The Panthers have a  ...

NFL Picks: New England Patriots at Carolina Panthers, Monday Night Football

NFL Picks and Predictions, Monday Night Football: New England Patriots at Carolina Panthers

Everyone loves the panthers and the public is on the Pats. I think the “insightful” play is the Panthers… they’re home, they’re talented on both sides of the ball, and the Patriots have really struggled this year…

But it’s hard to get around the idea that the Pats aren’t good and the Panthers are? I’m not sold. I like the Pats +10, and I like the Pats +3… both with very low confidence… I’d almost rather not touch this one.

Z-Code is in a hesitant agreement with  ...
