FIRST ANNUAL NFL PICKS COMPETITION

NFL betting is a completely different animal than any other sport. Lines move slowly over the course of the week with action condensed into two glorious days and nights. Information is slowly revealed, injury statuses change, and suddenly Tuesday morning's favorite becomes an underdog on Saturday night. Money lines can be brutal, spread betting can be challenging, and strategy is everything. Think you've got NFL betting figured out? Here is your chance to display your skills and get a glimpse at the winning football community that Z Code is building. The best part? It's free to play, and you can win cash prizes in addition to the prestigious honor of being crowned Z Code's NFL King.

With well over $60-$70 billion in wagers each season, the lure of the NFL is unmistakable. $83 million dollars was legally bet in Las Vegas on the Super Bowl alone! The Z Code System was initially formed as an NHL community. Now with verified, winning results over the course of the last decade, Z Code is expanding into the NFL as well. Our goal is to spread the word of the immense success of both the NHL and NFL Z Code community through this competition.

Our 2012 NFL Championship will seek to do the following:

  1. Help fellow sports investors follow the best of the best NFL picks. If you're successful from week to week, why not share the wealth? Together, as a community, we can beat the challenging world of spreads and week-long line movement.
  2. Identify winning strategies and systems. As the competition progresses, winning approaches will be revealed to the community.
  3. Grow the Z Code NFL community and spread the word. You'll get a glimpse into our computer analysis and the thoughts of our best experts throughout the competition. Together, we are an unstoppable force. The more input and analysis our community produces, the better.

Rules

Phase 1: NFL weeks one through six will comprise our "regular season". The competition is open to anyone and profit figures will dictate our playoff group.

  1. Competitors may place anywhere from one to five picks per week. Once picks are posted, no alterations or changes of any kind are allowed - regardless of line movement.
  2. Four types of wagers are permitted in this competition. MONEY LINE, SPREAD BETS, TOTALS (OVER/UNDER), and TEAM TOTALS. No parlays will be permitted in the NFL competition.
  3. Buying up to one point is allowed on any given game, but the odds posted must be accurate. Odds must be provided in either American or Decimal format.
  4. WRITEUP: A short summary of the logic behind each pick is REQUIRED. 1-2 lines will suffice. This feature is included to help our community understand how a given competitor is winning from week to week and to build upon their success. In our original NHL contest on Facebook, this feature separated guesswork from genuine sports insight and was immensely valuable.
  5. All are welcome to participate in the NFL competition, including those without a private Z Code membership. The competition is held on Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/ZcodeNFLpicks to let everyone participate.
  6. You are welcome to join the competition at any time, but all competitors must participate in at least two full weeks of NFL wagers to be eligible for the playoffs.

Phase 2: Playoff brackets

  1. Those competitors who are able to produce a profit in the first phase of the competition will be eligible to compete in a playoff bracket. There is no limit to the size of the playoff bracket - it will be defined solely by the number of competitors in profit. Adjustments may be made to accommodate a pool too large for the remaining 11 weeks of the NFL schedule.
  2. Each round of the playoffs lasts one week. After all, single game playoffs are the standard in the NFL and it produces one of the most exciting postseasons in sports.
  3. Playoff picks may be sent to Danilo should a competitor feel the need to protect themselves from copied picks and unfair play. The tournament ends when all but one competitor has been eliminated.
