First two rounds we play in similar formula like in regular season, but each round lasts two weeks. Every week we take 4 of 6 best picks from a team and we count goals scored by the team. Then we make a sum of goals scored in first week and in second week for a final score.
Note: Team result from second week cant influence in negative way number of goals scored in first week.
Example:
WEEK 1 best picks: 1.50 2.00 L 1.60 = 11 goals scored
WEEK 2 best picks: L L L 2 = 0 goals scored
Final result for a team is 11 goals scored.
In case of a tie team with more total won picks in round proceeds to the next round. If both teams won the same number of picks then team with best won pick proceeds (meaning team with highest single odds taken and won).

Grand finals will be played in 3 weeks. I will describe it in details before we start it!
Playoff RULES
In the interest of fair sportsmanship and fair play, like in previous contests, the Playoffs rules are stricter:

SIMILAR PICK TYPE AS YOUR OPPONENT IS NOT ALLOWED ANYMORE (So called "pick copying".)
In any rounds of playoff opponent teams CANT take same pick type on the same team as posted by opponent. So if your opponent took OVER you can't take OVER, only spreads or under on the same event. If opponent took spreads you can't take spreads on the same team only totals on same event or spread on another team. Or just bet different event.
Explanation:
"Team B CAN'T take the same selection which was already taken by team A. As a "selection" i understand the same team with different spread or totals with different number.
For example we have match Celtics vs Heat. Team A took Heat -5. Then team B CANT make selection on Heat spreads anymore (even different). However team B can still take totals selection for this game or spreads on Celtics. -
No "kamikadze strategies" are allowed in playoffs
So called "kamikadze strategy" is used when whole team takes same big risk bet in a gambling effort to win "all or nothing". In Playoffs only 2 people from the same team can have same pick maximum. "Miami Heat-9 and Miami heat -9.5" are considered same pick as well.
- Every player can post 1 pick per week. You can choose from all Wednesday-Thursday-Friday NHL and NBA games. NO OTHER SPORTS! The pick must be given before the game starts. Remember, 1 pick per week so no stress. Take your time to analyze and give the best POD!
- Allowed odds range is from 1.3 to 3.0

As usual, you have to place your pick in clear and understandable way! Mandatory are: Your type, odds, bookie, GAME DATE and your contest team name. For example:

15.01.2014 Miami Heat -6.5 @ 1.91 (bet365)Remember, there is no such thing as "standard spread on NBA" because it changes through the day. Spread must be listed in clear form.
Game date is mandatory this time because we can have the same team playing few times during 3 days. If you forget to list the date and it is not clear which game you mean then by default i will count the game from the same day of your post if there are more than 1 games played during the weekend by your team. - Unclear, incomplete, too late posted picks will be disqualified and player result will not be counted and considered as a pass. No shortcuts, full city name or nickname.
- Editing post is not allowed. If you forgot to list odds or bookies just make a new post with additional info.
- Allowed pick types are only: moneyline, spreads, totals and team totals. Adjusted spread is allowed (buying points) but you must be within 1.3 to 3.0 odd range. No props are allowed this time to avoid gambling bets.
- Please post European format odds only. It makes counting easier and faster and help to avoid mistakes. Convert from American here or with your bookie. Americal odds are no longer accepted

15.01.2014 Miami Heat -6.5 @ 1.91 (bet365) - The results are counted by POD Master Michal. All unforeseen situations are also decided by the POD Master. The POD Master is also a player. The transparency of the contest gives no advantage to POD master over other teams.
- Each team has 6 players including captain. In case of inactivity the players can be replaced by the captain with bench players from the Bench player pool. (see rule4). Empty slots in teams from previous contest will be filled by a fair draw.
- Teams will be split into groups. They fight in rotations pairs against each other in weekly rounds. The top teams will then proceed into playoffs to get additional great prizes!
- The members that passes with no prior notification for 2 weeks in a row and more, can be replaced by their captain and will lose the position on a team and chance to win a prize. Such player is disqualified from the contest.

How do we count team results? The same model as in NFL contest.
We summarize profit of the picks from team mates. For the sake of higher scores and avoiding boring ties (draws with zero scores) and more fun, only top 4 results out of 6 are counted for the team score. A losing pick gets -100, but for team result we count only 4 best picks. Final team score is mathematically rounded to avoid fractions.
We get a score for “Team 1” 12 points and for “Team 2” 31
Team 2 gets 3 points for victory.
Team 1 gets 0 points.
We count scored "goals" to be able to separate teams with same points. If your team is in minus it is counted as 0 goals. The draw gives 1 point to both teams. -
Important rule: NO DUPLICATE PICKS ALLOWED! Watch your opponent team picks before posting! Members of team A are not allowed to post the same bet as members of team B that posted before them. If I took Pacers-7 then nobody from other team that plays against me can take SAME bet. But they can take Pacers-6 no problem. Take different spread, take total or just take different game. There are plenty to choose from.
If you posted duplicate pick by mistake you can post additional pick later (before game start) as a correction. If you ignore the rule altogether and post duplicated pick with no further correction, it is not counted and considered as a pass. This rule helps us avoid duplicate useless picks that block each other. This rule also encourages people to post earlier rather than later so everyone can follow and benefit with betting the best picks. - The captain decides the Logo and the team name and gives to POD master. The captain should try to work out the team strategy and post inspiring weekly updates. We noticed teams with most inspiring captains make it deep into playoffs. Teams with captains who did not care to support the team and inspire it, did not last long. Same like in real sports.
- Team captain or deputy captain can also post 1 (ONE) additional pick per gameweek in case other team member will not show up or post invalid pick. This picks is valid only for team score, not individual score. Additional pick can be placed on any Friday game. There is no time deadline. If no games are played on Friday (like 14 Feb) then additional pick can be placed on any Thursday game.
- Captain has to show up every week. If a captain does not show up 2 weeks in a row and more, then members have a right to vote and replace him with another team mate as new captain. Captain can also replace members if they don’t show up 2 weeks or more. This rule will ensure commitment from the captain and team mates to lead the team to the victory and not give up after 1 week. The final decision is up to Deputy captain about changing Captain who did not show up. He can become a captain himself or promote other team member.
- After the regular season, best teams proceed into playoffs. Playoffs rules will be announced later.
VERY IMPORTANT RULES UPDATE
- If you have a problem with posting pick on forum (site is down etc) and you send pick via email to Michal to contest@zcodesystem.com then YOU HAVE TO SEND THE SAME SELECTION. If you send something different and you were successful with posting on forum then both your picks will be disqualified! Your email must arrive before deadline!
- Opposite picks are not allowed within same team (pick against your team mates). For example if your game is Islanders vs Rangers and your team mate posted Rangers (ML,spreads, win in reg.) then you are not allowed to pick opposite team Islanders (ML, spreads, win in reg). However you can still bet Totals on the same game. Same with Totals. If your team mate posted Under on game or team total you are not allowed to bet Over on same game etc.
- Picks without decimal odds or wrong format will be counted as invalid pick (Push). American odds are no longer accepted. They make calculation difficult and confusing for most of players because we use "Bet to risk" model. if you get used to Amercian odds, simply convert odds easily here http://oddsconverter.co.uk/
- Game Start Time
Officially it is allowed up to 5 mins to post a POD withing a game time start. So if official Game start is 7:00 PM EST then you can post up to 7:05 PM (On NHL and NBA games usually start 10-15 mins after official ceremonies). If the POD is placed later than 5 mins, it is disqualified.
- The bench players are counted separately in a separate leaderboard. Everyone can join Bench contest at any time! The main players can't join bench contest.
- The leaders of the Bench contest are counted using the most profitable streak model. The same method was used in previous NFL contest. We simply multiply picks in streak like in an open parlay. If you get L you can start your streak again.
- If the captain is taking the bench player, such player receives the status "Taken" and can't be claimed by other teams. However his picks are still counted in both main and bench contest. So he can win both prizes! This will make sure that leading bench players can receive their prize no matter if they are taken later by the team or not. This will also encourage great performance from the bench player so they can be take on the team!
- The Bench Player Individual Contest continues during regular season and during playoff as well. Bench players can replace team member during playoffs also.
Teams are divided into 2 conferences and divisions. During 9 regular season weeks teams in each conference face each other once. Each division winners qualify into playoffs from 1st and 2nd place in conference. 3rd and 4th teams from each conference qualify into as well.
East Conference Team winner gets $1000
West Conference Team winner gets $1000
