NHL Predictions: Can Toronto Maple Leafs continue winning streak?

The NHL season is around 24 games old and a picture is being formed of which teams are playoff contenders. The Toronto Maple Leafs, who haven’t won the Stanley Cup since 1967, currently lead major sportsbooks’ Stanley Cup futures betting odds. Will the Maples Leafs continue their great play on Wednesday night or will the San Jose Sharks bring it to an end?

San Jose Sharks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs The Maple Leafs go into Wednesday night’s game against the San Jose Sharks at odds of +450 to win the Stanley Cup. According to leading bookies, Toronto  ...

NHL predictions: February 2nd

It’s a short list of games in the NHL on Friday night February 2nd. Reigning NHL Stanley Cup winners, the Pittsburgh Penguins, will be on the ice. Surprise package expansion team Vegas Golden Knights will also play. The NHL regular season is nearly two-thirds of the way finished. There is still plenty of space for teams to jockey as the NHL Playoffs loom.

The two of the best teams in the Metropolitan Division take to the ice on Friday night. Both hockey clubs have been playing well over their last  ...

NHL 2017-18: The puck is about to drop on opening night

The NHL 2017-18 season is about to begin, and the Pittsburgh Penguins are expected by many sportsbooks to win their third consecutive Stanley Cup. Predicting the team will win and it actually happening isn’t always what occurs. However, the Penguins have a legitimate shot of pulling off the feat.

Wednesday night October 4th sees the puck drop. Four games will take place on opening night, and the defending champions are one of the clubs taking the ice.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Winnipeg Jets The Jets have plenty of expectations on their shoulders this season. The team may be at +4000 odds  ...

2016 Stanley Cup: Pittsburgh Penguins Will Beat the San Jose Sharks

2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs Picks: Pittsburgh Penguins vs San Jose Sharks The Pittsburgh Penguins have all the momentum here. I had them making it through the East, and but for a disappointing first round loss I think we might have seen my full bracket come to fruition with the Anaheim Ducks. It’s been a whacky playoffs, but the forum is up nearly 1,000 dollars. We’re going to ride the Pittsburgh Penguins here as the hot team that we’ve trusted to get us this far. I really don’t like the San Jose Sharks.

NHL Playoffs Picks: Predators Sharks Game Seven

NHL Playoffs Picks: Nashville Predators at San Jose Sharks Game 7 I had the team that the Nashville Predators knocked out in the first round winning it all, but the Preds showed resilience and consistency in pulling off a win in Game Seven. Here, they face another Game Seven against what is by all accounts an inferior team to the one they just beat. My issue is whether the Nashville Predators have enough gas left in the tank to pull off another Game Seven victory on the road. Right now, I’ll say yes with limited confidence.

The Nashville Predators have  ...

NHL Playoffs Picks: LA Kings at San Jose Sharks Game Three

NHL Playoffs Picks: LA Kings at San Jose Sharks

I think the LA Kings are the better team here, and I think that they have enough defense and goaltending to turn this series around on the road. The LA Kings lost two tough games at home, and as the series shifts to San Jose, the desperation will be high. They should be able to finally get things going.

The San Jose Sharks have surprised me in the beginning of this series. They look sharp and have the ability to score clutch goals and muscle out wins. The defensive system of the  ...

NHL Picks: Today’s Top Hockey Sports Predictions, Wagers

NHL Picks: Today’s Top NHL Sports Predictions We’ve been slacking a little bit if you look only at our NHL Picks page. I had a bar application due, we had to put together our MLB Picks Podcast, and I was camping last week with limited internet. As a result, we have only given you a few picks this week. Tonight, I rectify some of that by posting the entire slate of games from my forum. We’ve been on quite a run, up more than $1,000 with $100 units.

Today, a bunch of games fit the system. I’ve laid out the  ...

NHL Picks: Edmonton Oilers at San Jose Sharks

NHL Picks: Edmonton Oilers at San Jose Sharks The Edmonton Oilers are an explosive young team with a lot of holes. The defense is porous, the goaltending is suspect, and the offense is inconsistent. That said, the young talent on the Oilers’ top two lines can compete with just about anyone. The Oilers are dangerous at times, but ultimately they fit the system when they play top NHL teams like the San Jose Sharks.

The San Jose Sharks are a great team at home. The Shark Tank is one of the most intimidating arenas in hockey. They have goaltending and  ...

NHL Pacific Division Predictions: Anaheim Ducks Still Dominant

NHL Pacific Division Picks: Ducks, Kings, Flames I was surprised by the Calgary Flames last year and impressed by what I consider an unexpected playoff run. Traditional favorites like the LA Kings and Vancouver Canucks fell off a bit, and the Flames jumped in to fill the void. Can they do it again? Can anyone catch the Anaheim Ducks?

1. Anaheim Ducks (107 pts): I think the Ducks are arguably the most complete team in hockey. They have strong goaltending, experienced depth, and an explosive offense. I don’t know how anyone can catch them, and competitive as the West is,  ...

NHL Picks: San Jose Sharks at Ottawa Senators

NHL Picks: San Jose Sharks at Ottawa Senators

No team has come on as strong over the second half of the season as the Ottawa Senators. Seemingly out of nowhere, following the discovery of a phenom goaltender, the Sens have caught the stumbling Bruins. With two games in hand and just a point back after winning six in a row, Ottawa seems like a favorite to make the playoffs as a wild card.

The San Jose Sharks – perennial favorites out west – have gone in the opposite direction. They’re eight points out and struggling. They’ve lost three of four  ...
