NHL Picks: Carolina Hurricanes at Washington Capitals The Washington Capitals are coming back from a long road trip out west that visibly wore them down. After a couple of porous games and blowout losses, the Caps returned home and had a couple days of rest. I think they will be recharged and talent will show through against a very mediocre Carolina Hurricanes team with nothing to play for but a draft seed.

This is something of a rivalry game for divisional foes, but the Washington Capitals have been the much better team this year. The Canes do not match up  ...

The Washington Capitals are the much better team. The Caps have been on a nice stretch before two tough losses, and I think they’re ready to bounce back against one of their old division rivals.

The Canes have been sloppy this year and at the basement of a very top-heavy Metropolitan Division. The Caps are fighting for a playoff spot, and though they’re on the road, I expect them to play well against a familiar opponent.
