NFL Predictions Week 4

New Orleans Saints versus Miami Dolphins

The Saints come in at 1-2, while the Dolphins are off to a 2-1 start. Despite having a worse record and playing on the road, the Saints are a 1.5 point favorite. In the last meeting between these teams in 2013, the Saints won as a home favorite. The Dolphins hold a +2.88 to -1.97 in the NFL Team Strength Oscillator and a +22 to +5 edge in the Power Ranking Indicator. Despite the underdog status, the oscillators have me leaning towards the Dolphins, which is my pick to win outright.

Tennessee Titans versus Houston Texans

In this AFC South battle, the 2-1 Titans visit the 1-2 Texans. Last season, both teams won as home favorites and the Titans are a 2-point road favorite. Despite the worse record, the Titans hold the edge in the Power Ranking Indicator at +11 to +2. In the NFL Team Strength Oscillator, the Texas are at +10.09 and rising, while the Titans are -5.28 and rising. I see the Texans edging the Titans as the home underdog to even their record at 2-2.

Pittsburgh Steelers versus Baltimore Ravens

This AFC North battle features two 2-1 teams. Last season the teams split with the Ravens winning as home underdog and the Steelers winning as the home favorite. The Ravens hold a significant edge in the Power Ranking Indicator, while the Steelers have a slight advantage in the NFL Team Strength Oscillator. The Steelers come in as 2.5 point favorites. Both teams are coming off a loss and the Steelers have an advantage so far on the offensive side of the ball. I see the Steelers holding on and winning a close one on the road.

Oakland Raiders versus Denver Broncos

In another divisional battle, the 2-1 Raiders travel to Denver to take on the 2-1 Broncos. The teams split last season, both winning as slight home favorites. Although losing last week, the Broncos have a huge +30 to +2 advantage in the Power Ranking Indicator. Similarly, the Broncos hold a 6-plus point edge in the NFL Team Strength Oscillator. The teams are nearly identical in points scored and points allowed, so it isn’t surprising that the Broncos are a narrow one-point favorite. The Broncos are tough at home and see that trend continuing. The Broncos will take this one to move to 3-1 on the season.

San Francisco 49ers versus Arizona Cardinals

This NFC West match up features two teams who are struggling. The 49ers are 0-3 with a -25 point differential, while the Cardinals are 1-2 and coming off a home loss to the Cowboys. The Cardinals won both meetings as favorites last season. Both teams are ice cold on the NFL Team Strength Oscillator, with the Cardinals holding a -4.33 to -12.32 advantage. In terms of Power Ranking, the Cardinals are still a relatively strong 15, although declining, while the 49ers are dead at 0. Look for the Cardinals to win and cover the 6.5 point spread.

New York Giants versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The 0-3 Giants are coming off a last second loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Buccaneers enter at 1-1. The teams haven’t met since November 2015 when the Giants won as a road favorite. The Buccaneers are first in Team Volatility. They also hold large edges in terms of Power Ranking Indicator and Team Strength Oscillator. A 4.5 point favorite, look for the Buccaneers to improve to 2-1 and continue the rapid downward spiral for the Giants.
