NFL Picks: Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs
Arrowhead is always a tough place to play. The Chiefs are on a nice stretch of great football, pulling within a game of the Denver Broncos for first in the division. Ultimately, with so many teams in the AFC currently with four losses, the winner of this game can pull a little bit further from the pack by securing a better chance at the division title.
That’s why I’m going with the Denver Broncos here. They’re a dog, so there’s a ton of value in the money line for me with this +1 spread. I like Denver as the superior team to go and win a big road game, secure the division, and keep the fight for the top seed alive. Knowing that Peyton can’t win in Foxborough, this is the season for Denver. If they end up as a wild card or lower seed, I don’t think they make a playoff run.
So, can they win on the road in order to avoid having to play on the road as much? Tricky choice.
For me, the Chiefs are one dimensional. You won’t see them beat you with the pass, but they don’t make mistakes. I don’t see how a grinding offense like the Chiefs can match the explosiveness of Peyton Manning’s Broncos. I’m on Denver in a very “common sense” way, but I’m on them nonetheless.
